Meet Tara
Hi! I'm Tara, the owner and lead designer at Tara Wynne Designs. I grew up in northern Indiana, and here in the Midwest, we can get all four seasons in one week (no really, it's a thing!). I like to think that inspired my desire for design, and fueled my need to refresh every room, every season! :) Growing up in the Midwest was really the best though!
First thing you should know about me, is, I consider myself an old soul. Think of the hobbies your grandparents enjoyed, and I probably enjoy those same things, at the ripe old age of 33! I grew up golfing, playing tennis (which was short lived), crafting, and baking with my mom, but
I’ve always had an interest in Historic Architecture and the stories behind the houses and the families that lived there.

My passion for design stems back to before I can remember. I would repaint the walls throughout our house, and change my bedding and room décor yearly. When I was in High School, I helped design my niece's nursery which just solidified my career path in Interior Design. I moved to Indianapolis for college, where I majored in Interior Design and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree. I’ve worked in several areas of design throughout the years, and actually met my husband while working as a kitchen designer!
My husband and his family farm locally, so I was introduced to a new way of life pretty early on in our relationship. We met in the fall of 2014 and he’d just finished Harvest. I spent the next spring riding in tractors, bringing him meals, and learning just how different our childhoods were. I eventually figured out this farm/country life was something I never knew I needed... but I actually wanted!
We’ve spent the past five+ years renovating and restoring our home. It was built by a brick mason in 1990, and was meant to replicate a 1920's brick colonial farmhouse. It has so much architectural detail and charm! It’s been so fun to see it come to life again and design a space that will not only grow with our family, but be appreciated for generations to come!
When I'm not designing you can usually find me baking away in the kitchen, trying new recipes, curating some new craft project, or buying new home décor (that I more than likely don't need)! Lattes/coffee and good red wine are my love language and weekends in my house tend to mean a good book (on audible of course), getting lost in 1000-piece puzzles, eating my weight in charcuterie boards, church on Sunday's, and of course, spending time with my husband and our adventure seeking lab, Max.
Oh! I forgot to mention, my favorite color is "floral", I love a good wallpaper and neutral earth tones are my jam (just ask my friends!).
